The algorithms in the Tracer™ UC800 controller enhance the unique features of the new generation Trane chillers, ensuring they continue to operate in the most demanding conditions. The controller Tracer™ UC800 supports open protocols BACnetTM, LonTalk®, Modbus RTU and features a large (7” or 12”) touchscreen full-color interface for simple, intuitive operation.

LonTalk™ Interface (LCI-C): The UC800 provides an optional LonTalk™ Intelligent Communication Protocol (LCI-C) between the Chiller and the Building Automation System (BAS). The LCI-C LLID can be used to provide “gateway” functionality between the Chiller and a LonTalk compatible device. Inputs/outputs include optional and mandatory network variables as established in LonMark Functional Chiller Profile 8040.

BACnet Interface (BCNT): The Building Automation and Control Network (BACnet and ANSI/ASHRAE Standard 135-2004) protocol is a standard that allows building automation systems and components from different manufacturers to share information and control functions. BCNT allows building owners to connect various building control systems and subsystems for different reasons.

BACnet Test Lab (BTL) Certification: All Tracer™ UC800 controllers are designed to support the BACnet Smart Communications Protocol. Additionally, select versions of some UC800 firmware have been tested by an official BACnet test lab and have achieved BTL certification.

ModBus RTU Interface: Modicon Communications Bus (Modbus) is an application layer messaging protocol that provides client/server communication between devices over various networks, such as BACnet.
